November 2022 marks the 3rd annual International Suction & Discharge Month, sponsored by our very own Temporary Piping and Fitting Manufacturing Association (TPFMA). Now is a perfect time to highlight the importance of suction and discharge in sewer bypass applications — and share how you can protect both sides of your pump system!

Suction & Discharge in Sewer Bypass Operations

Sanitary sewer overflows are becoming an unfortunately common occurrence across the United States and beyond, particularly in cities that rely on outdated wastewater infrastructure. Many times, addressing an overflow event requires a carefully designed temporary sewer bypass to clean, repair, or replace the pipes in the system.

If you work on sanitary sewer bypass projects, you know that pumps are a critical component of any job. Yet all too often, expensive pumping equipment is plagued by clogs and unwanted debris such as non-flushable wipes, hygiene products, trash, rocks, and even construction materials. While you can’t prevent solid foreign materials from ending up in city sewer systems, you can be proactive about protecting your valuable pumps — and Wolf Creek Portable Piping Products’ Hunnebucket inline pump strainer was designed to do just that!

Hunnebucket Inline Strainer for Sewer Bypass

Our Hunnebucket inline pump strainer was custom-designed and fabricated to meet the unique needs of today’s sanitary sewer bypass projects. We knew our customers needed a dependable solution to keep their pumps working efficiently while mitigating the damage caused by taking in solid materials.

We designed the Hunnebucket pump suction strainer with a large basket/screen that captures unwanted materials as fluids flow through. This strainer prevents any debris from entering on the suction side, while allowing non-contaminated fluid to flow through the discharge side.

For the utmost convenience, our Hunnebucket inline strainer has a top-facing viewport and a notched lid, so workers can quickly and easily check the basket for debris and know when it’s time to empty it. While other inline strainers require disassembly to view the build-up, the Hunnebucket enables you to keep moving and avoid delays in your project timeline.

Available in 6, 8, and 12-inch sizes, ranging from 60 to 180 pounds, there’s a Hunnebucket suction strainer to fit your pump and protect your investment!

Why Wolf Creek Customers Love the Hunnebucket Inline Strainer

The Hunnebucket inline pump strainer has quickly become one of our most popular products at Wolf Creek, making life easier for customers every day. But don’t just take our word for it — keep reading to find out what some of our customers have to say about using the Hunnebucket inline strainers for their sewer bypass projects:

Blue Tank and Pump Rental, LLC, located in Nicholasville, Kentucky, has extensive experience in both planning and implementing designed turnkey systems to successfully bypass sewer lines. The company relies on Wolf Creek’s Hunnebuckets to enhance efficiency and safety during sewer bypass applications.

“Hunnebuckets are the only way to go for sewer bypass,” said Travis Singleton, Branch Manager at Blue Tank and Pump Rental. “We no longer have to risk injury lifting heavy suction hoses. Simply remove eight bolts, lift the flange, clean, rebolt, and away you go.”

Ontario-based Toromont Pump Systems serves the specialized equipment needs of diverse industries ranging from roadbuilding to mining and telecommunications to food and beverage processing. When it comes to sanitary sewer projects, Toromont trusts the durability of Hunnebucket inline pump strainers for projects of all sizes.

Account Manager Arek Kasznia shared, “The Hunnebuckets are fantastic for the convenience of capturing and cleaning out debris in a sanitary application on a regular basis. We recently completed a massive sewer bypass in the City of Toronto, and the ground level access makes it much more possible to maintain a high debris, high clogging system, without the need to enter into the manhole or pull out the suction lines.”

As you can see, Wolf Creek’s Hunnebucket is no ordinary inline strainer for sewer bypass. We’re proud to hear about the positive impact the Hunnebucket inline strainer is making for our customers — and we’d love to help you realize the same results!
