When you need to redirect water to or from a lake or pond without damaging the suction end of your pump, PolyBarb Floating Tee Strainers are the perfect solution for the job!

Since adding them to our product mix, floating tee strainers have become one of our most popular products. Keep reading to learn more about these lightweight HDPE strainers for suction applications:

PolyBarb Tee Float Strainer Features

Our t-shaped strainers are made from lightweight, DR17 high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, enabling them to float on top of a water source. Perforated with 2 ¼ inch wide holes, our PolyBarb tee float strainers prevent rocks, sticks, and debris from flowing through and damaging your pump equipment. They are available in 4, 6, and 8-inch size options, each with a crimped and pressed Genuine Bauer ball and socket fitting that creates a durable, watertight connection.

When to Use PolyBarb Tee Float Strainers

There are several situations where using a tee float strainer makes sense. In general, these durable strainers work best when redirecting water from a shallow water source.

Here are a few examples where we’ve seen our customers put floating tee strainers to work:

  • Redirecting floodwater out of low-lying areas below sea level, such as parking lots or neighborhood streets.
  • Pulling water for spray systems used for dust mitigation on construction sites or gravel quarries.
  • Delivering water from nearby water sources—such as retention ponds—for golf course irrigation or agricultural applications.
