Here at Wolf Creek Portable Piping Products, we’re proud to support the next generation of skilled welding professionals in our community. That’s why we were so excited to have Aiden Heimer, a welding student at Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC), join us for a work-based learning opportunity as a shop welder.
For the past ten months, Aiden has helped our team with daily tasks ranging from shipping, packing, and inventory to welding, machining, and metalwork. He’s learned to manipulate metals and even use our fusion machine to press Wolf Creek’s HDPE products. Our goal is to provide Aiden with a broad scope of experience, and his ability to pick things up quickly has made him a valuable asset to our team.
“I’ve been highly impressed with how well MVCTC has prepared Aiden for the welding workforce,” said Brent Ogburn, president of Wolf Creek Portable Piping Products. “He’s already very hard-working, independent, and focused. Our job is to help him broaden his skillset so he’s ready to step right into a rewarding full-time career.”
Aiden shared, “I’m currently learning to weld, but at Wolf Creek, I’m learning about every aspect of fabrication and production, which makes me an all-around better team member.”
When he’s not working, Aiden enjoys spending time with his family and girlfriend. He’s on the Brookville High School football team and also likes to fish, work on his truck, and play video games in his free time. In addition to working on a personal welding project, Aiden plans to get forklift certified to expand his skillset even further.
